Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven SEO Strategist to enhance the organic search performance of a high-traffic digital news and media website. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical and on-page SEO expertise, with hands-on experience in auditing websites, implementing optimization strategies, analyzing performance, and driving sustainable organic traffic growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct technical SEO audits, including Core Web Vitals, crawling, indexing, structured data, and XML sitemaps.
Improve website visibility across Google Search, Google News, Top Stories, and Google Discover.
Collaborate with editors and journalists on keyword research, search intent, headline optimization, and SEO-friendly content development.
Review existing content and identify opportunities for updating, consolidating, and removing underperforming content.
Analyze competitors and identify opportunities to increase organic traffic and search visibility.
Monitor and report SEO performance using Google Search Console, GA4, and other SEO tools.
Develop and implement a practical three-month SEO growth roadmap.
Train and guide the editorial team on SEO best practices and content optimization techniques.
Track keyword rankings, organic traffic, indexing performance, and overall SEO improvements.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, IT, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on SEO experience.
Strong knowledge of technical SEO, on-page optimization, keyword research, and search intent.
Experience with Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Semrush, or similar tools.
Sound understanding of structured data, website crawling, indexing, Core Web Vitals, and XML sitemaps.
Ability to demonstrate measurable SEO results through improvements in organic traffic, keyword rankings, and search visibility.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
