Role Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Web Developer to lead the development of our high-traffic mortgage brokerage website. This role is responsible for enhancing site performance, user experience, and feature set to drive lead generation and customer acquisition. The Senior Developer will serve as the technical owner of our WordPress platform – optimizing it to match or exceed industry benchmarks in speed, UX, and functionality. The ideal candidate has at least 5-8 years of WordPress development experience and a track record of managing large-scale WordPress sites with heavy traffic and conversion-focused features​.

About You:

You are a perfect blend of technical expertise and user-centric design sensibilities. You have a strong eye for intuitive interface design and the skills to implement them through clean, robust code. With deep experience in managing high-traffic WordPress sites, you’re well-versed in the WordPress ecosystem—especially in custom theme and plugin development, performance tuning, and security best practices. You thrive in cross-functional teams, communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and approach challenges with a problem-solving mindset. You don’t just build websites—you craft experiences that are fast, functional, and built to scale.

Role Descriptions:

• Optimize site speed and responsiveness across devices using best practices like caching, minification, and image compression. Monitor and improve Core Web Vitals to ensure a smooth, Google-recommended user experience.
• Build and implement new features such as mortgage calculators and application flows. Ensure seamless integration with the site to boost lead generation and user engagement.
• Work with designers to improve interface, usability, and accessibility across devices. Use analytics and feedback to deliver intuitive, responsive design enhancements.
• Implement SEO best practices including schema, meta tags, and optimized page structures. Manage SEO tools and support content teams to improve organic traffic and rankings.
• Keep WordPress core, themes, and plugins updated in staging before going live. Maintain site security with plugins, firewalls, backups, and swift issue resolution.
• Use tools like GA, GTM, Hotjar, and VWO to track user behavior and optimize conversions. Run A/B tests and make data-driven improvements to reduce bounce rates.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into tech solutions. Provide technical leadership and mentor junior developers where needed.
