Job Description

Responsible for designing, conducting, and presenting the monitoring and evaluation of BlinkNow Nepal and its implementing partner organization - Kopila Valley Sewa Samaj (KVSS). Working directly under the Country Representative, this position will also prepare the M&E plan, be part of setting indicators, conduct assessments and evaluations, and data collection, data analysis, and presentation to ensure the quality outcome of the programs.

This role is expected to be humble, patient, and passionate about working with team members and the children. The primary focus of this role is promoting professionalism and measuring the impact of the organization.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Design monitoring and evaluation framework for the organization in coordination with the Country Representative. 
  • Conduct Structured M&E at a set frequency as per the approved plan and function as the data focal person for the organization.  
  • Prepare the impact reports and provide recommendations for improvement.

Detailed Responsibilities

The Senior M&E Manager will be mainly responsible for overseeing the following areas of responsibility:

Design monitoring and evaluation framework for the organization in coordination with the Country Representative.

  • Define each function/program area for monitoring and evaluation. 
  • Draft indicators for performance measurement for each program and project’s functions to guide the structured M&E.  
  • Research on the methods of defining indicators and conducting M&E to build the organization’s M&E plan. 
  • Develop detailed short and long-term M&E plans for the organization.  
  • Communicate the approved indicators to the implementing teams to help set the team goals and to evaluate the programs. 

Conduct structured M&E of the functions of BlinkNow’s implementing partner organizations 

  • Develop surveys, questionnaires, and other tools required for conducting M&E.   
  • Lead relevant data collection, including using field study where necessary. 
  • Analyze the collected information for its reliability and accuracy.
  • Ensure data collection procedures including consenting and data safety, utilizing the tools introduced by the organization. 
  • Follow approved strategy and plan and coordinate with the team members at BlinkNow Nepal and KVSS for conducting structured M&E.

Prepare the impact reports and provide recommendations for improvement and function as the data focal person for the organization.  

  • Prepare impact data for regular quarterly reporting and partner reporting.
  • Strengthen the continued internal data feed-in process required for progress tracking. 
  • Manage the data tracking and reporting platform for the display of impact data.
  • In coordination with the team build protocols and ensure data safety and security. 
  • Build an iterative process for continued data feed-in for programmatic improvement.

Additional Expectations

  • Build positive working relationships and environment in the organization by bringing solutions to the discussion table. 
  • Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions and execution of duties. 
  • Report to the manager on a weekly basis and as needed in case of urgent issues. 
  • Promote team alignment on the org-wide decisions.  
  • Ensure and enforce confidentiality in collected information/data.

Must Haves

  • Education: Master’s degree in relevant discipline
  • Experience: At least 7 years of proven experience in Monitoring and Evaluation (minimum 2 years in a managerial role)
  • Language: A good communicator, and fluent in English and Nepali
  • Skills and Abilities: Initiator, ability to use computer tools, passionate about and caring for children and vulnerable populations; and ability to lead M&E in the organization.
  • Works collaboratively and independently with the least supervision required.
