The Senior Manager – Human Resources will serve as the strategic lead for all HR and administrative functions across the group. Based in Kathmandu, this role bridges the gap between corporate strategy and ground-level execution. You will be directly responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of employees across three distinct hydropower project sites, optimizing workforce productivity, maintaining regulatory compliance, and overseeing comprehensive office administration.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR & Project Workforce Management Multi-Site HR Oversight: Manage, monitor, and streamline HR operations for staff across all three hydropower project sites, ensuring consistent implementation of corporate policies.
Talent Acquisition & Vendor Management: Partner and coordinate closely with external recruitment agencies, headhunters, and technical consultants to source high-caliber engineering, technical, and managerial talent.
Performance & Retention: Design and implement robust performance management systems (PMS) tailored for both corporate professionals and site-bound technical teams.
Office Administration & Operations General Administration: Oversee the day-to-day administrative functions of the Kathmandu headquarters, ensuring a productive and well-equipped work environment.
Site Mobilization Support: Coordinate logistical and administrative support for staff mobilization, demobilization, and rotations between the Kathmandu office and project sites.
Budgeting: Formulate and manage the annual HR and administrative budgets, optimizing operational costs without compromising on quality or safety.
Employee Relations & Compliance Labor Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for resolving complex employee relations issues, grievances, and disputes, particularly handling the unique challenges of remote site environments.
Legal Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to the Labor Act of Nepal, Social Security Fund (SSF) regulations, and industry-specific environmental and safety compliance guidelines.
Job Specifications & Qualifications Criteria Requirements
Minimum MBA (Specialization in Human Resource Management preferred)
Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in HR and Administration.
Direct experience in the Hydropower, Infrastructure, or Construction sectors is highly preferred.
Kathmandu-based (with occasional travel to project sites as required).
Key Competencies & Skills
Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage decentralized, diverse teams (from corporate executives to site laborers).
Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both English and Nepali.
Negotiation & Liaison: Strong networking skills to successfully collaborate with external recruitment partners, labor unions, and local authorities.
Problem-Solving: Sharp conflict-resolution skills capable of handling high-pressure situations unique to infrastructure project sites.
