Terms and Location: Kathmandu, Deployment starting from November 1, 2015
Main Responsibilites / Duties
To ensure the compliance of Logistics policies and procedures in Kathmandu and project area for:
- Procurement
- Warehousing
- Fleet Management
- Asset Management
Under the direct supervision of Logistic Coordinator of the organization,Senior Logistics Officer will:
- Ensure that adequate logistical management routines and systems are in place, and that procurement practices and standards are adhered in Kathmandu and project areas
- Manage the supply chain, according to NGO procedures and regulations, to ensure timely supply of goods to projects which also includes transportation and freight management
- Responsible for all procurement procedures, ensuring that all the logistics requirements are respected and comply with NGO procedures and compliance regulations
- Provide logistical co-ordination and advice to other departments and functions within the office
- Compile accurate and timely overall monthly reports (fleet management, asset management, and procurement tracking/plan, and stock/ inventory report)
- Review the monthly logistics reports and advise the Field Manager where there are irregularities or areas of concern that need follow up
- Supervising of Fleet management/drivers
- Frequent travel to project area around Kathmandu and inside Nepal
- Fulfill any other related tasks that may be assigned by the NGO Senior management
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor degree with minimum four years experience working in logistics
- Diploma in Warehouse or Logistic Management preferable
- Working experience with UN, INGO /NGO will be an asset but not essential
- Strong capability in computer & IT applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet & Email etc.)
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Fluency in Nepali and English languages
