Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Hydropower Engineer to lead complex hydropower projects from concept to commissioning. The ideal candidate is a proactive professional with strong leadership skills, extensive technical expertise in hydraulic and structural design, and a passion for delivering innovative, sustainable hydropower solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage hydropower projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
Oversee project layout and design, including headworks, waterways, penstocks, and powerhouse layouts.
Provide expert hydraulic design, including hydro-mechanical components such as gates, valves, and trash racks.
Prepare and review technical reports (pre-feasibility, feasibility, detailed design, tender design) and maintain project documentation.
Mentor and manage a team of engineers, ensuring collaboration and successful project delivery.
Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance and client satisfaction.
Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure designs meet industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
Stay updated with the latest industry advancements to continuously improve technical capabilities and project outcomes.

Required Education Level:Graduate (Masters)

Required Experience:More than 8 years

Other Specification

Master’s degree in Hydropower, Hydraulics, Water Resources, or equivalent.
Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in hydropower engineering and hydraulic design.
Proven leadership and project management skills in multi-disciplinary teams.
Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
Proficiency in relevant design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, or similar) and project management tools.
Ability to travel to project sites and work in field conditions as required.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making capabilities.
