Job Description

We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and dynamic Senior English Teacher who will also serve as the Head of the English Department (HOD) at KMC School. This role will require the successful candidate to teach senior-level students and oversee the development, delivery, and enhancement of the English curriculum. As HOD, the individual will be responsible for managing the department, leading a team of English teachers, and ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Teaching Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective lessons for senior school students.
  • Teach and assess students in accordance with the national curriculum, exam boards, or other relevant academic requirements.
  • Develop differentiated lesson plans and activities to cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages academic excellence and personal growth.

2. Head of Department Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and develop the English Department, ensuring that all teachers are aligned with the school’s educational vision and objectives.
  • Develop and update the English curriculum to meet academic standards, incorporating new teaching strategies and technology.
  • Monitor and evaluate the teaching and learning activities within the department, providing professional development and support where needed.
  • Organize and lead regular departmental meetings to discuss academic progress, share teaching strategies, and resolve any issues.

3. Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Principal and Academic Coordinator to set departmental goals, objectives, and performance targets.
  • Collaborate with fellow department heads and other faculty members to ensure cross-curricular integration and the sharing of best practices.
  • Represent the English Department in meetings with senior management and contribute to the overall development of the school’s academic vision.
  • Support new teachers, mentor junior faculty members, and promote a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
