Job Description

  • To ensure that the quality of the corporate credit portfolio in the Bank is maintained within acceptable parameters, as defined by the Credit Policy and Portfolio Standards (PS)
  • Exercise risk control responsibility for Credit Risk in Corporate portfolio in the Bank
  • Formulating and obtaining approval of Local Credit Policy / Underwriting Standards
  • Approval of Business Credit Applications falling within own discretion and support of applications, which require review outside the territory.
  • Assisting Business in identification and managing up or out of accounts exhibiting signs of deterioration and assisting Special Assets Management, where appropriate,
  • in managing substandard accounts
  • Ensuring that the quality of Business Credit Applications (BCAs) meets Group standards, particularly with regards to the completeness and depth of risk analysis
  • Regular stress testing of portfolio / segments as required by internal and external factors and review results and assessing their implications
  • Ensure Early Alert process, for clients with weaknesses or potential weaknesses, is adhered to and lead monthly Credit Issue Committee discussions
  • Monitoring and reporting breaches to Risk Triggers outlined in Underwriting Standards and breaches of Local Portfolio Standards parameters on monthly / quarterly basis
  • Monitoring compliance with Credit Policy, Local Portfolio Standards, portfolio targets and business strategy on a monthly / quarterly basis
  • Daily monitoring of portfolio with respect to excess, past due, renewal of security documents, etc
  • Timely submission with accuracy of Nepal credit portfolio data to the Risk Committee
  • Undertake regular customer visits to keep abreast of local market developments and better understand the business environment
  • Apply a duty of care and awareness, for the full spectrum of risks (including operational risk, reputational risk, event risk, etc) over the Corporate Business.
  • Ensure compliance to the Risk Management framework
  • Effectively manage the key stakeholders relevant to the roles and build net work with the stakeholders inside and outside the bank
  • Reporting of material risk exposures and related issues to the responsible governance committees and to Group and business-level committees as appropriate
  • Implementing and compliance of all applicable rules, regulations, policy and procedures effectively in the risk management of the credit portfolio
  • Co-ordinating with local resources to ensure that credit systems are installed in accordance with Group standard and local regulations
  • Effective management of the loan asset portfolio for maximizing Economic Revenue and maintaining credit quality
