Roles and responsibilities of this job
We are looking for a technically proficient and field-hardened Senior Civil Engineer specializing in underground works. This role is critical for the execution of the Hydroelectric Project’s powerhouse complex and waterway systems. You will be responsible for overseeing the structural integrity, excavation methodology, and safety of complex subterranean civil components.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise excavation, rock support (bolting, shotcrete), and reinforcement of the underground powerhouse cavern and transformer hall.
Oversee vertical and surge shaft construction using raise boring or pilot methods and concrete lining.
Ensure underground works follow geological designs and monitor rock mass behavior.
Manage steel liner installation and high-strength concrete in confined spaces.
Review contractor method statements and ensure compliance with technical specifications and timelines.
Implement underground safety protocols, including ventilation and emergency procedures.
Prepare daily to monthly progress reports on underground milestones and resource usage.
Requirements
Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering (mandatory).
Minimum 5 years in hydropower construction, including underground powerhouses, vertical shafts, and surge shafts.
Skilled in Drill & Blast excavation, support systems, and reading complex tunnel/structural drawings; familiar with international standards.
Competitive salary with travel and field allowances.
