Reports To: Accounting Manager

Role overview:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and executing core accounting functions while leading and supervising accounting team members. The position requires strong technical accounting expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, market representatives, and internal management with ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced offshore environment. The Senior Accountant will ensure accuracy, efficiency, compliance, and timely delivery of all accounting and financial reporting activities.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

In a diverse, collaborative, supportive, and inclusive work environment, the Senior Accountant will be entrusted with a broad range of responsibilities, including but not limited to the following:

A. Accounting Operations:

Review, examine, and execute recurring accounting tasks, including:

Journal entries and General Ledger (GL) maintenance
Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
Payment processing
Cash management (petty cash, cash flow monitoring, etc.)
Payroll processing and oversight
Inventory accounting etc.

Review account balances and analyze fluctuations.
Reconcile accounts on a regular basis.
Process and review monthly, quarterly, and yearly accruals.

B. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

Prepare and/or review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Prepare and review MIS and other management reports.
Build and analyze budget-to-actual performance reports.
Identify areas for cost savings and improved operational efficiency.
Assist in the design, preparation, and review of organizational budgets.

Systems and Process Improvement:

Maximize accounting system efficiency.
Customize and maintain the chart of accounts for optimal financial reporting.
Ensure proper use of accounting and ERP systems.

Coordination, Communication, and Client Support:

Work closely with clients and market representatives to ensure quality, timely, and confidential service delivery.
Liaise with management, market representatives, and team members to ensure clear and effective communication.
Provide regular updates on task progress to supervisors and relevant stakeholders.
Maintain updated records of daily activities.
Submit bi-weekly time entry reports in BizVue.

Leadership and Supervision:

Lead, mentor, and guide team members in performing regular accounting activities.
Delegate tasks effectively and monitor performance and deadlines.
Ensure high standards of us work quality, compliance, and professionalism.

Perform other duties as assigned that are related to the position.

Job Specification

Required qualifications for this job

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 4 years

Other Specification

Education:

A university degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required. A master’s degree with a similar major is preferred.

Experience:

A minimum of 4-6 years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and general financial management is required.

Skills and Competencies

Strong working knowledge of bookkeeping, general ledger management, and financial reporting.
Demonstrated commitment to high ethical standards, integrity, independence, and sound professional judgment.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and effectively engage with clients, partners, and management.
Demonstrated experience using accounting and ERP software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar systems.

Period of Performance: Full-time, renewable based on performance and organizational needs

Working Hours: 4:00 PM – 1:00 AM (Remote)

Note: Preference will be given to candidates currently residing in the Kathmandu Valley.
