The Position 

Our sales teams are responsive, regional experts who are skilled at wowing business and direct customers with amazing options, all while achieving incredible sales success. Working collaboratively across the business, the Sales team is the primary contact for external customers, and they manage all points of the customer experience, up to trip departure.  

As a full-time Sales Manager with Intrepid, your role will be to provide leadership to the sales team, grow sales and deliver service level excellence, while ensuring your team stays motivated and connected.  In addition, you will service your own clients and take on a hands-on role in overseeing the management of complex and high value clients. 

This position is based in Kathmandu, Nepal, at Intrepid we believe vaccines play critical role in the safe return of travel. To ensure our workplaces are safe, we require proof of Covid-19 vaccination when you work from an Intrepid office, attend company events or travel on trips. For those who can’t provide proof of vaccination or a medical exemption, we may offer the option for remote work. 

A day in the life would have you: 

  • Working towards profitable growth of annual sales, customer satisfaction and conversion improvement 
  • Leading the team through training and support with regular one-to-one conversations and quality feedback 
  • Setting goals and meeting deadlines daily 
  • Model, create and maintain a successful environment through team management and collaboration 
  • Providing outstanding professional service and communication to customers 
  • Build and maintain a high repeat and referral customer base  

To set you up for the best possible success, some of the essential skills you’ll possess are: 

  • Previous supervisory experience, including leading a team to sales success through coaching, training & developing 
  • Proven track record in managing and reporting on sales targets for a team of direct reports 
  • Strong destination/regional and local travel knowledge 
  • Experience in both inbound & outbound sales with the ability to build strong relationships 
  • Significant travel industry and sales experience, ideally with adventure travel 
  • Ability to accurately use systems and create or train others in processes to provide a quality customer experience 
  • Fluent English skills (written and verbal)
