Job Description

Inter disciplinary Analyst (IDA) is seeking a young, enthusiastic, and resourceful female Research Associate with a passion to work in the field of research. The Research Associate will mainly be responsible for providing support in the preparation of concept notes, proposals, and reports, and for providing assistance to formulate and implement research tools. 

Essential qualifications and experience

  • Master’s degree in the Social Sciences or any other relevant field with proven writing skills
  • No prior work experience required but a willingness to learn and the right attitude is essential
  • Fluency in written English
  • Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven work in writing analytical papers is desirable
  • Knowledge and proficiency in ITC, MS Office application is highly desirable
  • Proactive team player- able to manage relationships and work collaboratively within a diverse team
  • Sound knowledge of contemporary issues, activities, and approaches in international development and research
  • Sound knowledge of M&E tools is highly desirable
  • Any relevant training on research/ data management. report writing will be considered as an asset

Responsibilities

Support in preparation of reports, concept notes, and proposals

  • Undertake review of project documents and other secondary literature in assignments undertaken by IDA
  • Write, sub-edit, and copy-edit reports and other documents
  • Provide inputs in the analysis and writing of survey reports and monitoring visit reports
  • Content Research as well as secondary data collection for the preparation of concept notes and proposals
  • Under the guidance of the Executive Director, coordinate with team members to ensure timely retrieval of information for preparation of various reports and documents

Assistance in formulating and implementing qualitative and quantitative tools

  • Assisting in organizing and facilitating Focus Group Discussions (FGDs), Group Interviews (GI), In Depth Interviews (IDI), and Key Informant Interviews (KII)
  • Being involved in the field in facilitating FGDs, GIs and KIIs.
  • Supporting to formulate survey questions based on concerned log-frame in projects undertaken by IDA
  • Translating survey questionnaire and other checklists from Nepali to English
  • Transcribing FGDs, GIs, and KIIs audio into Nepali language
  • Translating FGDs, GIs and KIIs from Nepali to English language
  • Preparing survey fieldwork completion reports

 Coordination and Collaboration

  • Resource Person during training for enumerators and supervisors in various training programs organized for qualitative and quantitative research projects
  • Assisting the Executive Director in organizing seminars and workshops
  • Providing inputs in preparing content and posting updates on the website
