FGN’s current program focuses on supporting the Government of Nepal in implementing national Child Protection Policies, particularly the Deinstitutionalization of children from abusive institutions. Job Description

An exciting opportunity exists for an assistant to work on the project: ‘Young Lives in Alternative Care: Examining the role of deinstitutionalising care in response to orphanage trafficking in Nepal’.  This project is funded by British Academy/Leverhulme Small Research Grants, project grant awarded to Senior Lecturer Dr Shovita Dhakal Adhikari (PI) at London Metropolitan University, UK. The project is carried out in collaboration with Future Generation Nepal. To know more about the research project

The successful candidate will assist for 12 months (Part-time). The research assistant would be expected to undertake a range of duties, including the following:

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of specific research activities, as directed
  • Support and facilitate the selection of study participants in coordination with the team
  • To coordinate and lead/conduct In-depth interviews/Semi-structured interviews and Focus Group Discussion and Stakeholders Workshop
  • To conduct participant observations in the field
  • Transcribe and translate Interview and Focus group discussion
  • To conduct the analysis, code the interview and the focus groups and write up/present findings
  • Visit the study site as per need of the research
  • Prepare a draft report of the study and research-related activities
  • Contribute to paper writing and publication
  • Attend, communicate and coordinate with other research team members
  • Report the progress of the research activities to the research team and PI
