We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Research Assistant to support independent research projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow in the field of academic research. It will be ideal for anyone with a research background or who wishes to build research. Anyone with strong English writing skills and a research background or interest to build research career can apply.

Key Responsibilities:

Qualitative Research Support:

Assist in designing and executing qualitative research methodologies, including conducting interviews, focus groups, and surveys.
Manage research participant recruitment and coordination, ensuring ethical guidelines are followed.
Analyze and organize qualitative data, identifying themes and patterns.

Data Collection & Management:

Use appropriate tools for data collection, ensuring accuracy and integrity in all data entries.
Maintain organized research files and databases, ensuring they are updated and easily accessible.

Report Writing & Documentation:

Contribute to writing research reports, academic papers, and presentations, ensuring clarity, structure, and quality in written English.
Summarize research findings, preparing draft sections for reports, articles, or publications.

Collaboration & Support:

Collaborate with other team members, providing support for research activities as required.
Participate in regular meetings and discussions to review project progress and findings.

IT and Technical Skills:

Assist with using research software and tools for data analysis (e.g., NVivo, SPSS, or other qualitative analysis tools).
Ensure all research materials are stored securely, maintaining confidentiality and following data protection regulations.

Skills & Qualifications:

A. Research Expertise:

Good understanding of qualitative research methods and data collection techniques.
Familiarity with qualitative data analysis software (e.g., NVivo, MAXQDA).

B. IT Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong digital literacy, including the ability to manage databases and use research tools effectively.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to draft clear and concise reports.
Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality written content.

C. Proactive Attitude:

Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Desirable:

A. Academic Background:

A degree in social sciences, research methodology, or a related field.
Previous experience in an academic research environment would be an advantage.

B. Technical Proficiency:

Experience with statistical software (e.g., SPSS) or data visualization tools is a plus.

C. Interpersonal Skills:

Collaborative team player with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
An interest in developing a career in academic research and furthering research capabilities.

D. Personal Attributes:

Proactive: The ability to take initiative and contribute to the success of the research project.
Adaptable: Comfortable in a fast-paced research environment with changing priorities.
Detail-Oriented: Strong focus on accuracy and precision in data collection and documentation.

Working Conditions:

This role will involve remote work with occasional in-person meetings in London (when required).
Flexible hours, depending on project requirements.
Project-based, with the possibility of extension based on the progression and funding of research projects.
