Community Information Network (CIN), established as one of the wings of Association of Community Radio Broadcasters Nepal (ACORAB), has been serving as a common platform for all community radios of Nepal to come up with community driven radio programs. This network allows radio stations to receive news and information from the studio of CIN as well as to share information among them.

We are currently seeking to a recruit competent, energetic, committed and self-motivated Reporter for the CIN. The main role of the Reporter is to support CIN news desk on reporting, news reading, news portal content writing and mentoring the community radio journalists.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducting thorough research to gather accurate and relevant information for news and radio programs
  • Writing scripts, articles, and reports for radio broadcasts that are clear, concise, and engaging
  • Meeting tight deadlines for news updates and programs
  • Recording audio segments and conducting on-site reporting when necessary
  • Editing recorded material to create polished and professional radio segments
  • Presenting news bulletins and hosting radio programs, delivering content in a clear and articulate manner suitable for radio audiences
  • Adhering to broadcasting regulations and ethical standards
  • Collaborating with other reporters, producers, and staff members to plan and develop programs
  • Coordinating with technical and production teams to ensure smooth execution of radio programs
  • Keeping abreast of current events, news trends, and developments in relevant fields
  • Using social media platforms to promote radio content and engage with the audience
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as per the demands of news cycles
  • Engaging in continuous learning to improve reporting skills, staying updated on new reporting techniques, technologies, and storytelling methods

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least Bachelors’ Degree preferably in Journalism and Mass Communication or any other relevant discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience, preferably in a radio network or community radio or any media in the similar position with sound radio reporting and radio program production skills
  • Familiarity with community radio and media development, capacity building as well as being digitally savvy, would be advantageous.
