About the programme

The Renewable Energy Engineer will work as part of the team to support various activities of the organization with frequent travels to the project sites including rural areas, for activities such as surveys, monitoring and commissioning.

Duties and Responsibilities

• The technical survey, installation supervision & monitoring, and commissioning of solar energy projects such as solar mini-grids, solar on-grid, solar off-grid and solar water pumps.
• Track ongoing projects. 
• Assist the team in ongoing energy projects.

Requirements

• At least one year of field experience in energy-related project(s);
• Must be able to prepare engineering drawings and be proficient in AutoCAD; 
• Have sound knowledge of renewable energy systems, especially solar energy;
• Have excellent documentation skills and fluency in written English;
• Be proficient with MS Office Suite, especially MS Excel;
• Experience using renewable energy software, such as PVSyst, Meteonorm etc. will be considered as an added advantage;
• Have excellent organizational, time management and strong interpersonal skills;
• Have the ability to multi-task, work flexibly and meet tight deadlines;
• Have attention to detail and proven ability to work independently and effectively with minimum supervision;
• Have networking skills to engage with key internal and external partners;

Eligibility and skills

Education:

• Minimum eligibility: Completed bachelor’s degree in the relevant engineering field.

Experience:

• At least one year of field experience in energy-related project(s).
