The Himalayan Innovative Society (THIS) is a registered non-government organization dedicated to fostering the rights of children and their families since its establishment, 2003. We have been working in close coordination with the Nepal Government for the family reintegration of children removed from vulnerable children’s homes in Nepal since 2006 and have already made positive differences in the lives of over 1200 children.
In child protection, we collaborate closely with the government at all levels. We contribute to capacity-building efforts, empower child protection systems, improve gatekeeping mechanisms to prevent local child trafficking, advocate for deinstitutionalization and care reforms in children's homes, and provide counseling and transitional care support for children. We are proud to share the success of our frequent advocacy and coordination, which have resulted in the formation of child rights committees at many local levels in Bagmati and Karnali Province.
