Job Description

The Quality Controller implements the laboratory operations within the beverage manufacturing premises, ensuring that all laboratory testing and analysis are conducted accurately and efficiently. This role is responsible for maintaining high standards of quality control, regulatory compliance, and safety within the manufacturing facility.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Supervision:

  • Lead and manage the laboratory team, providing training, guidance, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for laboratory operations.

Quality Control and Assurance:

  • Conduct all water/beverage quality testing and analysis to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and company specifications.
  • Develop and validate testing methods for various water/beverage quality parameters.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of test results.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure the laboratory complies with all local, state, and federal regulations related to water/ beverage quality.
  • Prepare and submit necessary reports to regulatory agencies as required.
  • Stay updated on changes in regulations and standards affecting water quality testing.

Equipment Maintenance and Calibration:

  • Ensure all laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and functioning correctly.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues with laboratory instruments and equipment.

Data Management:

  • Maintain accurate and organized records of all test results, calibration logs, and quality control activities.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.

Safety and Training:

  • Promote a culture of safety within the laboratory, ensuring all team members follow safety protocols and procedures.
  • Provide training on laboratory safety, equipment use, and testing methods.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency, accuracy, and quality.
  • Identify and implement best practices in laboratory operations and water quality testing.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Microbiology, Environmental Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within the water or beverage industry.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role is highly desirable.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of water quality testing methods and regulatory standards.
  • Proficient in using laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Proficient in using laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and other relevant software.
