Job Description

Setting standards

  • Develop quality assurance plans, policies, and procedures; lay down quality assurance standards for raw material, packaging material and the various products offered by the company.
  • Interpret and implement quality assurance standards and procedures.
  • Evaluate adequacy of quality assurance standards.
  • Devise sampling procedures and directions for recording and reporting quality data
  • Plan, conduct and monitor testing and inspection of materials and products to ensure finished product quality as per set quality standards.

Operations

Quality Assurance Standards

  • Align all internal processes, policies, and procedures in compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Ensure implementation of all quality initiatives at the plants and ensure standardization in adherence to quality specifications at an organizational level.
  • Ensure Total Quality Measurement processes in every area of the organization including product design, procurement, supply chain, service, and administration.
  • Maintain a comprehensive centralized database for Quality Assurance.
  • Ensure that the various certifications relevant for standardization of rice and food quality are obtained by the organization.
  • Oversee the quality audit process to ensure effective implementation of Quality Standards in the organization.
  • Document internal audits and other quality assurance activities.
  • Inspecting output samples using industry-appropriate methods, such as comparing to standards, measuring dimensions and examining functionality.

Consumer Complaints

  • Collect and analyze data related to product for which complaints are received and present it to respective teams, production, procurement etc.
  • Respond to critical quality complaints from customers and evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions taken for critical market complaints.
  • Ensure consumer complaints are translated into process improvement initiatives.
  • Take care of daily calibration of instruments.
  • Maintain GLP in the workplace.
  • Monthly summary, report of FG, RM, GLP and PM.

Vendor Development & Selection

  • Provide inputs for selection of vendors for procurement of equipment’s/ material.
  • Ensure and facilitate implementation of internal quality systems by the vendors through technical guidelines, support, and monitoring in coordination with the SCM team.

Training & Employee Suggestions

  • Build awareness of the employees in quality assurance and audit practices and standards both on the job and through classroom training.
  • Oversee implementation of training programmes in food quality across the organization.
  • Ensure that employees are well versed with quality testing procedures and that they adhere to quality assurance practices as per the laid-out procedures.
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement and six sigma achievement within the team.
