Job Description: QA/QC Engineer/Manager for Water Treatment Projects in Nepal
Responsibilities:
Quality Management System (QMS):
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) for water treatment projects.
- Ensure adherence to QMS procedures and standards throughout project lifecycle.
Quality Planning:
- Develop project-specific Quality Plans outlining quality goals, procedures, and responsibilities.
- Coordinate with project management and stakeholders to integrate quality requirements into project schedules and milestones.
Inspection and Testing:
- Plan and oversee inspection, testing, and commissioning activities for water treatment systems and components.
- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards, and regulatory requirements.
Document Control:
- Establish and maintain document control processes for project documentation, including drawings, specifications, test reports, and certifications.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
Non-Conformance Management:
- Implement procedures for identifying, documenting, and addressing non-conformances during construction, installation, and operation phases.
- Coordinate with stakeholders to investigate root causes of non-conformances and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
Supplier and Subcontractor Quality Management:
- Evaluate and approve suppliers and subcontractors based on their quality management capabilities and track record.
- Monitor supplier/subcontractor performance and conduct audits as necessary to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
Quality Reporting:
- Prepare regular quality performance reports for project management and stakeholders.
- Communicate quality metrics, trends, and improvement initiatives effectively.
Training and Awareness:
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to promote quality awareness among project team members and subcontractors.
- Provide guidance on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Additional certifications in Quality Management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer) are desirable.
- Experience: 8-10 years of experience in QA/QC roles within the water treatment, construction, or infrastructure sectors. Specific experience with water treatment technologies and systems is preferred.
- Knowledge: Thorough understanding of QA/QC principles, standards (ISO 9001, ISO 45001), and regulatory requirements relevant to water treatment projects in Nepal.
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Nepali, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in MS Office and project management software.
Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with project managers, engineers, contractors, and regulatory authorities to achieve quality objectives.
Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in inspections, documentation, and reporting.
