  1. Shangri-La Development Association (SDA) is a non-government, not-for-profit organization established by Youths for community development in 2014 A.D. SDA has been making community interventions since the inception of the organization. To date, SDA has conducted Shangri-La Sustainable Local Initiative Project (SSLI, SSLI-I, SSLI-II, SSLI-III, SSLI-IV), School Building Reconstruction and Education Support Project (SBRES), Shangri-La Reconstruction and Development Project (SRDP) and One Time Support Project (OTSP). All the other projects done were incorporated in such a way that it supports the SSLI project and strengthens the interventions. Shangri-La Sustainable Local Initiative Project 5 (SSLI5) is a three-year project of the Shangri-La Association(SA), Switzerland / Govinda Association(GA), Germany, and SDA. The target project areas are Karnali Higher Secondary School, Anamnagar, Jumla, and Kailash Rural Municipality of Makwanpur district. SSLI targets two villages (Kalikatar and Bharta) of Makwanpur where approx. 1800 Chepang people live in 246 households. Apart from these, 40 deaf children in Jumla are the targeted beneficiaries through Jumla Special Children Project (JSCP). These children come from all over Karnali Region as the school with the support of SDA has the best possible facilities and support.

Job Description

  • Responding to requests for information releases or press conferences from the media or designating a spokesperson or source of information
  • Establishing relationships with beneficiaries, community, employees, and public interest groups
  • Planning or directing the development of programs to maintain favorable public and stakeholder views of the organization's agenda and accomplishments
  • Documentation of training, program, workshop, and events and save them on drive folders
  • Coordination with the field project team for day celebrations, social media posts, and more
  • Studying the organization's objectives, promotional policies, and needs to build public relations strategies that influence public opinion
  • Preparing and editing organizational publications such as press releases, calendars, and notebooks
  • Updating and maintaining web content along with publishing blogs regularly
  • Field visits as required to attend the program, document project activities, and for blog purposes
  • Social Media Management including regular posts as well as preparing social media reports every month
  • Prepare and send out invitations to stakeholders and relevant parties for events/programs
  • Coordinating with the social media squad team for fundraising programs, events, and more
  • In addition, carrying out tasks as assigned by the coordinator and PR supervisor
