Together with the Government of Nepal (GoN), civil society, and the private sector, FHI 360 works collaboratively in the areas of HIV, family planning (FP)/reproductive health (RH), health security, antimicrobial resistance, nutrition, COVID-19 response, procurement, and supply chain management, local capacity strengthening, civil society and media strengthening, governance reform and the environment and climate change.

Psychosocial Counseling

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with implementing partners (IPs) and prepare psychosocial counseling sessions plan in consultation with technical monitor and Provincial Coordinators.  
  • Conduct onsite/virtual sessions of psychosocial counselling to IP’s staff as per the approved plan.  
  • To conduct individual or group psychosocial counselling session to IP staff.  
  • Observe psychosocial sessions conducted by Case Managers and provide onsite feedback for further improvement in providing psychosocial counseling.  
  • Support in psychosocial assessment conducted by EpiC Nepal.  
  • Facilitate psychosocial counseling sessions in training. 
  • Conduct continuous medical education (CME) on selected mental health and psychosocial counseling topics to IP staff. 
  • Provide distant psychosocial counseling support to beneficiaries if required. 
  • Coordinate with the psychiatrists at the provincial level as per need.  
  • Prepare report of the conducted psychosocial counselling session, monitoring of counseling and share with the technical monitor.  
  • Carry on other relevant activities assigned by the technical monitor.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree relevant subject with at least six months of accredited psychosocial counseling training 
  • Prior work experience in the field of psychosocial counseling.  Experience working with vulnerable and marginalized population will be preferred  
  •  Excellent communication, social, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
