Provincial Monitoring and Reporting Lead

Position Title: Provincial Monitoring and Reporting Lead
No. of requirements: 2
Duty Station: Lumbini and Karnali Province
Duration: The position is expected to continue until 31st March 2026, with the option for renewal subject to the client’s budgetary commitment

Roles and Responsibilities

Currently, LISP is being implemented across Karnali and Lumbini Provinces. Working full-time on LISP in either Karnali Province or Lumbini Province, the overarching role of each Provincial Monitoring and Reporting Lead (PMRL) is to ensure robust data is available and accurately captured to track and engage with progress, report results, identify issues and mitigate risks. Specifically, the PMRL will be responsible for:

  • Selected Data Collection and Results Monitoring to support assessment and understanding of collated data and inform indicator results.
  • Data Quality Checks as a second layer of quality assurance of results that are reported. This involves performing quality checks on data sources that are used to inform monitoring frameworks.
  • Data Analysis to support learning and decision-making and quarterly/annual reporting.
  • Dissemination to communicate results to a range of audiences (external and internal) using appropriate data visualisation and presentation techniques to communicate progress and/or achievements.
  • Capacity building to support LISP teams across all aspects of data collection and data processing.
  • Supporting the IEL team on any studies taking place in the province or any information requirements towards implementing these effectively.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Social Sciences, International Development, or related field.
  • At least a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in monitoring and evaluation.
  • Strong understanding of monitoring and evaluation concepts, frameworks, and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques and tools.
  • Adequate understanding of local infrastructure governance and public financial management systems in Nepal, with experience working across local, provincial, and federal government agencies.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts and findings effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Experience with data management software, statistical analysis software, and data visualization tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Nepali and English.
