Job Description

National Society for Earthquake Technology-Nepal (NSET) is working for Disaster Resilient Communities in Nepal since 1994. NSET seeks applications for the following positions from eligible candidates for the program “Supporting the response to the COVID-19 crisis in the education sector: Strengthening Education Clusters at Federal, Provincial and Local Governments” funded by UNICEF:

No. of Positions: One
Work Station: Madhesh Province
Appointment Type: Full Time for 11 months with possibility of extension
Required Qualification: Bachelors’ Degree in Civil Engineering/Management/Humanities/Social Science
Experience: Minimum 5 -year experience in education in emergencies, management & Disaster  preparedness or similar field
Language: Nepali and English in speaking, reading and writing are required
Preferable: Preference will be given to the local candidates. Candidate from disadvantage group and women are encouraged to apply.

Skills and abilities required:

  • Familiar with computer software: Microsoft Word, Excel PowerPoint, Outlook. 
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and documentation skill
  • Competent in English and Nepali typing.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall coordination and implementation of program activities within 50 Palika of Madesh Province 
  • Ensure quality of work and timely execution of program activities to meet desired program goal
  • Responsible to guide, support and control administrative mobilization and supervise financial expenses done by Palika Cluster Coordinator during program implementation.
  • Responsible to coordinate and work closely with donor, provincial government, Provincial Education Cluster, local government and other governmental/non-government stakeholders, school management committee and concerned stakeholders
  • Prepare periodic reports (weekly, monthly and quarterly)
  • Report the information and progress regularly to Program Coordinator
