Job Description

Work Purpose: To lead and manage SEL Project to achieve the project goal as per approved program. design and donor compliance. The project aims to provide vulnerable children with the opportunity to access quality education in safe learning environments by contributing in increased access to safe learning school environment for children in both Udayapur and Lamjung Districts. The project also will contribute in increased literacy (reading skills) in early grades (grades 1-3) in Udaypur & Lamjung Districts.

Contract : Time Bound Contract

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Preferably Masters) in Engineering (Civil)/ Disaster Risk Management/ Education/Natural Resource Management or relevant discipline from recognised university with at least five years’ experience in an NGO context in working with community/grassroots people and organizations, specially focus on disaster risk management, schools safety and knowledge on education (Early Grade Reading) projects 
  • Ability to do field survey, design, estimation of buildings including specification of construction materials & ensure the quality of construction works.              
  • Good understanding and experience about Nepal Government’s strategies, policies, guidelines, plans about Disaster Risk Management, School Safety and Education.
  • Extensive experience and recognized expertise in models and methods of training, facilitation and capacity building, 
  • Good knowledge of Project Management and organizational development 
  • Excellent decision making and problem solving skills
  • Experience in using logical frameworks and project monitoring
  • Ability to work under pressure and can take additional responsibilities
  • Competent in using MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint presentation and AutoCAD 
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills in English and Nepali                 
  • Willingness to commit to World Vision ethos, vision, mission and core values
  • Self-motivated, confident, independent
  • Creative with strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Positive learning attitude and concern for the poor and vulnerable people.
