Child Watabaran Center, Nepal (CWCN) is a non-governmental organization directly working with vulnerable children and children in different circumstances in Nepal since 2002 A. D. with the aim of making a street child an independent and dignified citizen in the society by providing education and vocational training and most importantly a family, a home for them. From the year of 2019, CWCN has strategically changed its working modality. Now, CWCN’s core mission is to protect the children, prevent children’s vulnerability to exploitation, discrimination, parent-lessness, violence and other health and social hazards and to make local government more responsible towards promotion and protection of child rights. Job Description

Typically, this post will manage our new but small size project with two objectives: firstly, to bring direct support to vulnerable children in our targeted villages, and secondly implement together with a small team of employees and a plethora av short term consultants to execute activities to bring social and structural changes. We target individual children, families, schools, health centers, local authorities and local partner NGOs and child clubs to deliver the project activities. Work primarily focuses on Bagmati province and province number 1 with contact office in Dharan and Dhulikhel.  This post will be stationed in Kathmandu with frequent visits to our project areas. 

General duties and responsibilities: 

Human Resources

  • Supervision of employees under Core Coordinator as per the organogram which includes, staff appraisal, contracting, holidays approval etc. approval of pay slips, attendance approval
  • Design and mobilize resources and execute employees training and capacity building to make sure that CWCN employees are equipped with latest knowledge and skills to perform their jobs.

Financial/Assets management and control

  • Lead the preparation of annual budget together with the Accountant and provincial coordinators 
  • Follow up and report the monthly budget and expenses flow of the organization
  • Make sure that financial policy of CWCN is strictly adhered
  • Timely report to secretariat regarding the financial issues of CWCN
  • Make sure that assets of CWCN are protected and secretariat is updated about the status of CWCNs assets timely.

Internal communication

  • Prepare monthly, tri-monthly, half yearly and yearly progress report of CWCN to the Board. 

Project Management (PCM)

  • Responsible for planning, execution, monitoring and follow up of all the programs of CWCN. 
  • Introduce new ideas, interventions programs for the overall development of the department. Plan and Monitor all the activities of organization
  • Provide technical inputs to increase the efficiency of the program outputs 
  • Conduct periodic internal monitoring and evaluation of the projects and prepare reports

Communication

  • Develop proposals on annual basis to current donors adapting to the requirements and formats given.
  • Write reports which are accurate, balanced, and credible.
  • Listen to the ideas of CWCN’s stakeholders, staffs, and beneficiaries and transform their ideas and information to an appealing project proposal to donors
  • Lead the fundraising events on a strategic way with the help of the board of CWCN 
  • Write easy-to-understand and appealing contents in the website and social media of CWCN.
  • Design ways to bring out the success stories of CWCN to public, donors, and other stakeholders.
