PACE -Nepal Jumla, is a reputed NGO of Karnali region, invites application from qualified, committed and experienced individuals for the following position for for Strengthening Community Resilience through Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR), Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Project in Jumla. The positions are initially for a two-year program funded by Plan International Nepal. Possibility of extension and will be based in Jumla district. Education Level : Bachelor
Experience Required : More than or equals to 5 years
Other Specification

  • Bachelors Degree (Required) from a recognized university in the following discipline or equivalent fields: Climate change and Development, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or Rural Development, Disaster Development Management, Social Science, Social Work, Community Development, Environmental Science.
  • Five (5) years cumulative experience preferred relevant subject
  • Experience working with INGO(s), government officials and integrating them into program implementation.
  • Strong organization and communication skills
  • Strong negotiation skill
  • Strong writing/spoken English
  • Strong level of computer skills required
  • Willingness to travel frequently to remote areas
  • Competence riding a motorbike preferred


Job Description

  • Conduct a baseline study and to identify WASH-related risks, capacity and priorities.
  • Implement project activities with full ownership of communities and local stakeholders.
  • Regular monitoring and prepare periodic reporting/ case studies to line manager.
  • Provide necessary technical support, coaching and feedback to the project team for smooth implementation of the project activities.
  • Support to identify local earthquake preparedness status, vulnerable wards/ household sand Project capacity in terms of major earthquake in Jumla Districts.
  • Hold monthly meetings with M-WASH-CC, W-WASH-CC, RM/M-WASH-CC, social mobilizes and collect the report from them
  • Mobilization of the target communities and local organization for participation in assessment, planning, implementation and monitoring of project interventions
