Human Rights Awareness Centre (HURAC-Nepal) Rolpa established in 1997 is a non-profit making, non- patrician and leading Nepali non-governmental organization (NGO) working in the areas of rural development, human rights and social justice, having strategic focus on protecting and promoting economic, social and cultural rights and right to development. Its major interventions are towards pro-poor and pro people policies and practices through rural development (livelihood, education, protection, health and sanitation, forest, soil conservation, environment), advocacy, campaign, lobbying, networking, research and awareness rising for people's empowerment. In the campaign, advocacy and lobbying fronts, HURAC has been continuously embarking on the fundamental rights of the children, economically poor, socially excluded and environmentally vulnerable sections of the societies. HURAC believes in result-oriented struggles of the people against poverty, hunger and socio-economic injustices.

Location: Triveni Rural Municipality- Rolpa (Community Based Office)

Job Description:

The position holder will be responsible for the overall project implementation, field monitoring, district/municipality level coordination, and liaising with local stakeholders including local government (Triveni Rural Municipality). S/he will be responsible to ensure effective and timely planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of project activities, and also ensures that activities are implemented in a coordinated way with ongoing integrated projects team.

Qualification & Experiences:

Bachelor’s degree in social sciences with 5 years of relevant experiences or Master’s degree with 2 years of relevant experiences. Preference will be given to candidates who have experiences in research and child protection.  

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure appropriate and efficient management of overall project activities; needs assessment, planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting at Triveni Rural Municipality
  • Ensure field level input support to beneficiaries, mobilize resources, conduct supervision and monitoring of office, field level project staffs and program
  • Ensure proper data collection, documentation and dissemination on regular basis, and support needs assessment, surveys, monitoring & evaluations
  • Coordinate and collaborate with Rural Municipality and ward level government line agencies, stakeholders, beneficiaries, media, other project teams within organization and other service providers at different levels
  • Participate in different networks and forums and coordinate at the community level like minded organizations for resource maximisation
  • Harmonize, facilitate and ensure to integrate the project components with other projects and programs at community level
  • Support to project and ensure the timely conduction of project activities having a quality delivery
  • Conduct and facilitate community level project activities with high quality; training, meeting, workshop, seminars etc
  • Collect feedbacks and learning from stakeholders and other concern agencies for the program
  • Frequently visit the project areas for supervision and monitoring the field level activities
  • Prepared monthly project tracking and quarterly, semi-annually and annual report and submit to Save the Children
  • Collect case studies/success story, action photos, learning, and challenges for the program documentation
  • Collect, compile and submit timely and quality monthly, quarterly, semi/annual financial and progress reports to Save the Children and as required by the local bodies and HURAC
  • Ensure proper financial management as per financial rule, regulation of HURAC, Save the Children and as per law of Nepal government;
  • Ensure full compliance of Child Safeguarding Policy at field level and especially with SC engaged personnel
  • Represent to HURAC at relevant local level forums and stakeholders
  • Report and share project issues, challenges, progress of project to Save the Children and HURAC
