About the organization
Atoot is a Sports for Development (S4D) NGO that uses
football sessions, educational classes, life-skills workshops and community
engagement to empower and educate girls in rural Nepal. Atoot began its
operations in late December, 2019 in the villages of Kapilvastu district,
Nepal.
Atoot was founded based on the need for safe and empowering spaces for girls
that face inequality, discrimination and injustice in Nepal. Atoot believes in
the power of sport for the greater good. We believe sport is a tool to help
bridge gaps, promote gender equality, build resilience, eradicate discrimination,
level the playing field and build character/self-esteem.
Our mission is to avail educative and sportive opportunities to girls by using Sports for Development (S4D) as a catalyst for empowerment and holistic youth development.
