  • More than 7 years of experience in national/international development cooperation with a focus on environment, natural resource management, forestry, climate change, and/or livelihood.
  • More than 5 years of experience in designing and implementing impact-oriented projects and programs related to environment, natural resource management, and climate change.
  • Excellent knowledge of community-based and participatory project implementation.
  • Excellent English language skills (spoken, written, and reporting).
  • Demonstrated project design and implementation abilities.
  • Track record of effectively managing and motivating diverse teams in complex project environments.
  • Ability to cultivate a positive and inclusive team culture that encourages collaboration and innovation through leadership capabilities.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) for document creation, data analysis, reporting, and communication.
  • Familiarity with video conferencing tools such as Zoom, Skype, or Microsoft Teams for virtual meetings and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of GIS software (e.g ArcGIS, QGIS) for spatial data analysis and mapping, especially relevant for environmental and natural resource management projects will be an asset.

Job Description

Our organization is seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to fill the position of Programme Manager for a climate Change Project. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the project, ensuring its successful execution and impact.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Programme Director to develop comprehensive program plans and budgets.
  • Ensure alignment of program activities with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Oversee and coordinate the implementation of program activities, ensuring adherence to established timelines and budgets.
  • Work closely with project teams to address challenges and optimize project delivery.
  • Manage day-to-day program operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Monitor and track progress, making adjustments as needed to achieve project goals.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to program staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Mentor and support staff development to enhance individual and team capabilities.
  • Develop and implement robust monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to assess program outcomes throughout the implementation phase. Make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between different program components, ensuring seamless integration. Foster effective collaboration among project stakeholders.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to the Programme Director and funding agency,
  • providing updates on program progress and challenges.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting in alignment with organizational standards.
  • Job will be based in the central office of ARD located in Gatthaghar- Bhaktapur with occasional need to travel to project locations.
