Center for Research and Sustainable Development Nepal (CREASION), is a not for profit, non-governmental organization that provides nepali citizens — especially those of a younger generation — the opportunity to actively participate in compassion-based change. CREASION strives to be an innovative platform for development, collective solutions, sustainable progress, volunteerism, and research based tasks. Essential :

  • Bachelors' Degree level education or equivalent 
  • An understanding of socio economic issues pertinent to 2015 Earthquake and how this impacts on livelihoods and income generation
  • The ability to analyze and present information clearly and experience of formulating project proposals
  • Demonstrable ability to organize and prioritize workload
  • A demonstrable understanding of development issues in Nepal
  • Experience in post-earthquake reconstruction works with basic knowledge in construction works
  • Knowledge of developing partnerships with other organizations

Desirable: 

  • Masters in Development Studies, Social Science, Social Entrepreneurship, Education, or a related field of study: 
  • Hands-on experience in report writing, analytical pieces
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the livelihood development sector
  • Experience of managing relationships with development organizations  


Job Description

Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer 

Terms of employment : Permanent post (subject to successful completion of a probationary period of 6 months) 

Hours of work: 49 hours per week – Sunday to Friday

Some unsocial hours may be required. 

Travel: This role requires significant travel 

Overall Purpose: 

The Program Officer will be responsible for implementation of existing and upcoming projects whilst mobilizing the community and the stakeholders. S/he will take a leading role in preparing timely reports to donors and sharing program impacts and lessons. Liaising with partners to develop, deliver and evaluate projects. 

The Program Officer will also work alongside other staff responsible for our Reconstruction program to ensure strategic planning of the project, funding and completion. 


Main duties and responsibilities 

  • To Implement programs and projects to help organization meet its goals and objectives
  • To manage the program budget and ensure that the program achieves its objectives within the funds available and the project timeline
  • To collaborate with existing and new partners to identify projects for support and work with them to deliver, monitor and evaluate 
  • To carry out regular and robust monitoring of projects to ensure quality delivery of outputs and activities; ensure effective evaluation of these projects through field visits and reports from partners
  • To lead project design and write key sections of proposals, determines budget allocations, recruit consultants and personnel, and upon award liaise with program staff to ensure efficient project implementation
  • To report on the outcomes and impact of projects internally to assist with program development and externally to project funders; and be ready to share this information with our volunteer and supporter base to raise awareness of our work
  • To maintain and develop working relationships with existing partner organizations; explore opportunities to bring new potential partners into the Livelihoods Program and other components
  • To develop links with other development organizations working in the same areas as CREASION
  • To liaise with other staff members in the organization to strategically manage and deliver projects which are part of our Reconstruction, Volunteer Engagement, Women Empowerment, Energy and Livelihoods Program
  • To liaise with the Project Fundraiser to plan and set budgets for projects, and to oversee efficient allocation and effective use of funds by partners to ensure all activities are carried out within an agreed budget
  • To undertake other duties commensurate with the grade as required by the Chief Executive Officer
