Our mission is to empower marginalized communities through equitable, inclusive and holistic development programs. There are four pillars in our developmental approach: Education, Health & Environment, Economy and Basic infrastructure development. These four pillars of development are supported by six major community empowerment programs namely Women’s Empowerment, Children’s Development, Youth Empowerment, Public Health & Medical care, Environment Conservation and Disaster Risk Reduction. Position Title: Program Manager
Location: Kathmandu (with frequent visits to Okhaldhunga)
Duration: Two Years (Extendable)
Salary and benefits: NPR 50,000–80,000/month (depending on your skills and experience in the field)

As a Program Manager, you can shape, innovate, and deliver on these critical initiatives while fostering cross-cultural exchange through volunteer programs.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead with Vision: Develop, implement, and manage impactful community projects that align with VIN’s mission and ESC HumAid guidelines.
  • Inspire and Guide: Mentor staff and international/local volunteers, facilitating a vibrant exchange of knowledge and culture.
  • Empower Communities: Build partnerships with local stakeholders to craft sustainable, community-driven solutions.
  • Oversee Operations: Manage budgets, optimize resource allocation, and deliver measurable outcomes through detailed impact reports.
  • Build Bridges: Forge partnerships with national and international organizations to enhance VIN’s outreach and impact.
  • Fundraise for Change: Write compelling proposals to secure funding for ongoing and future projects.
  • Innovate for Social Good: Organize workshops, campaigns, and outreach addressing critical issues like gender equality, youth empowerment, environmental conservation, and disaster risk reduction.
  • Go Digital: Modernize operations by integrating IT tools for streamlined documentation and improved project management.

Who Should Apply?

We are looking for young professionals (aged 27–38) who embody:

  • Educational Excellence: A Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Community Development, Social Work, or related fields.
  • Proven Experience: 3–5 years of success in project management or community development, ideally with NGO experience.
  • Social Passion: A commitment to key issues such as child protection, environmental sustainability, and gender equality.
  • Global Mindset: Cross-cultural sensitivity and expertise in engaging with diverse teams and volunteers.
  • Exceptional Leadership: Ability to inspire, guide, and motivate teams and communities.
  • Effective Communication: Proficiency in English and Nepali (spoken and written).
  • Tech Savviness: Skilled in leveraging IT tools for documentation and innovation.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong problem-solving abilities and resourcefulness.
  • Fundraising Acumen: Experience writing proposals and securing funding.
