Women’s Rehabilitation Centre (WOREC) is a national level NGO working for women's human rights and to ensure women empowerment with feminist value through protection and promotion of human rights and social justice focusing on campaigns- against violence against women, and women's economic, social and cultural rights nation-wide. We currently work in 19 districts with district offices in Morang, Sunsari, Udayapur, Siraha, Dhanusha, Dang, Kailali, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rukum, Kapilvastu, Rupandehi and, Surkhet with Central Office in Lalitpur. Position Description:

In close supervision and guidance with SPC and ED/PD, the Program Coordinator (PC) takes lead role and works in close coordination with the District Coordinators, Program Officers and other field staffs in achieving the goal and objectives of women health program of WOREC. PC is mainly responsible for program planning, designing, implementing, monitoring, supervision and reporting programs and project activities including communications and coordination with field and other various stakeholders. The PC oversees the women health program development, proposal writing, handing and tracking all specific and short-term projects that have specified deliverables.  

Education Qualification and Skills:

  • Should possess Master’s Degree in Public Health, or other related health or human services field 
  • Minimum of three years of progressively responsible direct professional experience 
  • Should have knowledge of basic principles, theories, and tools for social justice, healthcare resourcing and public health with service delivery mechanism
  • Have methodical and strategic thinking and good communication skills
  • Skilled in project management and excellent in campaign leading and management skills with budget planning skill
  • Knowledge of donor reporting having strong writing skills

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Assume coordination role on women’s health programs interlinking different project components including SRHR, CSE
  • Make annual, quarterly and monthly plan of women health, implement, and conduct supportive monitoring and evaluation and guidance for the achievements of the program’s aims and objectives
  • Make sure the annual plan of women health is implementing effectively, documenting properly and reporting timely by District Coordinators, field officers, counselors and supervisors
  • Prepare the program/project operational guideline and support the field team to enhance their understanding about the program modality, impact/outcome/achievements, and also develop formats, content and manual related to program activities
  • Plan, design and carry out the research on the concurrent issues especially related to effectiveness of Women Health Resource Centers (WHRCCs), Eco-village, Gender, SDGs, SRHR, Harmful Traditional Practices (HTPs), the effect of climate change in SHRH, food security in SRHR from women's perspective
  • Lead in writing project proposals, budgeting and raise funding for the sustainability of the women health rights program of the organization
  • Support and guide Community based Organizations (CBOs) and women, adolescent and children’s groups to develop their operational strategies and make sure the counseling centers are operating correctly, managing properly and the delivered service are in good quality
  • Ensure that the planned activities of women health program are implemented effectively and the project status updates are reported to the central office on the monthly basis. Similarly, make sure that the database and the evidences have been documented at central level as well as district level 
  • Coordinate and support to central staff, help establish organizational monitoring and evaluation system; provide support to develop, orient and apply different monitoring forms/formats, tools and use check list for program/project monitoring
  • Develop, prepare strategies and implement the women health campaign from women's human rights perspective; support in Violence against Women (VAW) for the reform/adoption of policies and program
  • Conduct lobby and advocacy meeting, interaction and discussion with Family Health Division, National Health Training Centre, NHEICC and Ministry of Health and Population; coordinate with the government stakeholders for the implementation of the program
  • Facilitate to strengthen the coordination with Health Divisions of Local Governments, Health Ministry at Provinces and Health Offices at district and local level, hospital of each district, build partnership for the women health, health camps, and other adequate services available from government
  • Represent and influence in different alliances, networks like POP alliance SRHR Coalition and other related to SRHR networks at local, provincial, national and international level
  • In consultations with PD, SPC, PC and field staff define the scope of the program/projects and provide support and guidance to field staff and other staff to develop programs/project and activities related to women health, sexual reproductive health, violence against women, socio, economic rights and ESCR campaign
  • Take lead and provide support to develop annual and periodic plan based on past experience/learning and innovations and WOREC’s strategic plan using the standardized form that clearly define objective, activities, indicators, expected results, time frame, budget etc
  • Plan, design and conduct staff capacity building program and provide technical support to all community clinics and counseling centers and respective staff when and where they need
  • Provide managerial support, guidance and technical inputs in ESCR and VAW campaigns and timely implementation and accomplishment of planned program/project activities
  • Execute program/project activities smoothly, with quality and on time by creating a detailed work plan program/project/activities, and assistance to other supervisory staffs, and ensuring the project deliverables on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
  • Monitor the progress and ensure the quality by tracking program implementation and reporting on timely basis and making necessary adjustments to ensure the successful completion of the respective project
  • Make field plans and carry out supervision and monitoring visits and provide technical inputs and required support to staff for successful completion of program/projects in all working districts of WOREC
  • Carry out periodic review of the program/project plan and implementation with program team, provide technical input and conceptual guidance and incorporate learning
  • Review, prepare and submit periodic and final reports of high quality on time to the partner/donor organizations in quarterly, half yearly and annually
  • Provide support to the different departments of the organization (like to admin, HR and finance, communication, publication and database) for the robust and smooth functioning of the systems
  • Facilitate for and maintain proper documentation of cases, success stories, initiatives/works of the organization, including periodic and annual reports and year book; and also ensure that all project information is appropriately documented and secured
