Established in 2009, YUWA is a registered not for profit, purely youth run and led organization working to promote youth participation through empowerment and advocacy. YUWA was born out of a group of committed youths, unofficially working in this sector since 2005. The initial focus was to develop leadership skills of the involved youths, to train as youth activists and to advocate for change, thus resulting into a wide and diverse array of knowledge, skills and experience in this sector. It led to the realization of the seriousness of youth issues and the need to act, which, finally took the shape of YUWA

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a competent Program Coordinator to undertake a variety of administrative and program management tasks. Help in planning and organizing programs and activities as well as carry out important operational duties.

We are looking for personnel who can work in organized manner and detail-oriented, someone comfortable working with diverse teams. The potential person needs to have skills in program development and human resources management.

The goal will be to facilitate the effective management of programs according to the organization’s standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Prepare Project plan and action plan for implementation
  • Ensure project planning including budgeting are taking place on time and following standard quality
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners, and stakeholders to advocate and promote organizational and program issues
  • Represent at donor’s meetings, conferences and networking events with funding agencies, project partners, Government of Nepal, donors and other interested parties, as required and other stakeholders as and when necessary
  • Monitor and support in the implementation of project to enhance staff capacity, ensure the quality of program
  • Ensure all planned activities in each program are implemented in line with expected results and provide support for improvement as necessary through conducting and managing periodic review
  • Planning and coordination of programs and its activities
  • Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the programs
  • Ensure implementation of organization’s policy and practices
  • Oversee and manage the communication department and program department
  • Develop comprehensive reports on ongoing programs and submit summary reports to management each month
  • Foster youth civic engagement and facilitate grassroots advocacy campaigns to tackle youth issues
  • Foster knowledge harvesting and strengthen stakeholder engagement to achieve collective advocacy goals
  • Communicate the project related information regularly with donor (if require)
  • Finalize and submit narrative report 
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned by President/EB/Supervisor

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Completed Bachelors or Masters in social work/development studies 
  • 2+ years’ experience in the relevant experience
  • Excellent computer literacy, including proficiency in MS word, PowerPoint, excel
  • Good knowledge of Photoshop is desirable 
  • Self-starter and team-player with enthusiasm for continuous learning and sharing
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (both English and Nepali)
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to exercise good judgment and solve problems quickly and effectively
  • Capability to work under extreme pressure and multi task
  • Ability to work well in a team and independently
