Job Description

The Program Associate (hereafter referred to as PA) will be a full-time employee of Samaanta Foundation, reporting to the Program Officer (PO). The PA will support all Samaanta programs and activities, including selection process, academic and personal growth and welfare of the fellows, and building and maintaining relationship with all partners and stakeholders. This is a full-time position, with a probation period of three months, and regular reviews thereafter.

The key roles and responsibilities of the PA are listed below, but these are meant to be illustrative rather than exhaustive. The organization retains the right to add or change these roles and responsibilities.

  • Support the PO with the selection process, college placement, and academic support to the fellows
  • Maintain an annual calendar, support extra-curricular sessions, and help with internship and work placements
  • Serve as the focal point for all fellows on a daily basis, pay fees and stipend payments, recording and reviewing academic performance of each fellows
  • Maintain detailed records of fellowship activities and expenditures, and support the publication of quarterly newsletters
  • Support the Communication and Strategy Officer to develop funding proposals and pursue fundraising activities at the local, national and international levels
  • Support activities to ensure Samaanta’s legal and financial compliance in terms of annual reports, audits and any other compliance requirements
  • Liaise with the Board of Directors as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least one years of experience in a similar area of work
  • Experience with administrative work highly desirable
  • Expertise of working with young people desirable
  • Ability to work independently on multiple assignments simultaneously with minimal supervision
  • Good written, verbal, and presentation skills in Nepali and English

Salary: Competitive salary negotiable, commensurate with qualifications and experience
