Job Description

Planning and monitoring all stages of the work internally and ensuring the standard of quality throughout production batch planning, sampling, production, training, quality control and packing and internal team coordination.

  • You are in charge of the smooth running of the production.
  • You must be attentive to respecting deadlines and following up before those deadlines. For for example, do not neglect products that are with KG with past deadlines.
  • You must keep track of when you can launch the products in production that are pending in the order tracker, as soon as possible. Sometimes certain products cannot be placed in production immediately but then they are forgotten.
  • Sometimes products are ready to launch, but none of the KG are available.
  • You must be attentive and up to date on who is free when and when the yarn needed arrives, to plan distribution of pending products to launch.

Every 2 weeks you must contact KGs.
This can be on the occasion of a new product manufacturing request, or for another request.But you must be in contact with;at least every 6-8 days with the KG. This means that you must not spend more than a week without making contact with a KG.

During telephone calls this is the opportunity to take stock of:

  •   Products still pending in their homes: remind them of all current products
  •   Ask for the number of KG currently available to them and in which styles

You will also have to ensure that the information concerning the KG is up to date:

  • Contact information / The number of knitters per group / The list of products manufactured by KG.This information is in the Knitter Group folder and must be kept up to date.
  • You need to identify errors if pieces are non matching with order sheets, these types of errors lead to misleading results in the system, you always need to question where the error is coming from.
  • You must be careful that the work of updating the system by the QC is done correctly.

Calculation of Yarn:

  • You need to be able to provide yarn consumption projections based on the product lots you receive. 
  • You must also be informed of the productions in progress, which allows you to anticipate your work of new order creations.

Launch of Batches (first steps in the workflow):

  • This is the first thing that you have to do, correctly list the items you need to launch into production, and discuss with concerned department  if we have all materials necessary for launching them into production.
  • If this cannot be manufactured: cancel the product and inform the person who requested it.
  • If it is manufacturable: put the product list in the order tracker table

Creation of order sheets:

  • You are the only person authorized to order products for Knitter Groups, and Tailors.

Monday morning meeting:

It would be very useful to fix meetings every Monday morning with the Managing Director,General Manager and production team. 
Using a report, to discuss the below mentioned points::

  • What knitters have upcoming deadlines that week
  • What knitter have late batches and why
  • Which places may need to deliver or pick up
  • Problems to solve
  • Upcoming batches to send out, Ie. christmas, AW, Hawa collection
