Job Description

Department: Procurement & Supply Chain
Reports To: Head of Department

Position Overview:

The Procurement Officer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing raw materials, machinery parts, equipment, and services required for the manufacturing operations of Bhugarbha Cement Ltd. The role ensures cost-effective procurement, timely delivery, and compliance with company policies, supporting smooth production and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers and vendors for raw materials (e.g., clinker, gypsum, additives), spare parts, and other goods.
  • Obtain and compare quotations, prepare cost analysis, and ensure procurement is done at the best price, quality, and delivery terms.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and payment conditions with suppliers.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring compliance with procurement policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier performance.
  • Coordinate with the production, maintenance, and finance departments to understand requirements and ensure timely supply of materials.
  • Monitor stock levels and place orders to avoid shortages or excess inventory.
  • Ensure all procurement activities align with legal, ethical, and company standards.
  • Track deliveries and resolve any issues related to quality, quantity, or delays.
  • Support cost reduction initiatives and vendor development programs.
