Roles and responsibilities of this job

We are seeking a highly skilled and leadership-driven Plant Manager to oversee the operations, maintenance, and optimization of our hydropower facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring maximum power generation efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Oversight: Manage day-to-day operations of the hydropower plant to ensure continuous and efficient power generation.
Maintenance Management: Develop and implement comprehensive preventative and corrective maintenance schedules for turbines, generators, governors, and auxiliary equipment.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) protocols and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and support staff.
Budgeting & Reporting: Manage the plant’s operational budget, procurement of spares, and provide regular technical reports on plant performance and outages.
Grid Coordination: Coordinate with load dispatch centers and relevant authorities regarding power evacuation and grid stability.

Required Education Level:Under Graduate (Bachelor)

Required Experience:More than 5 years

Other Specification

Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BE/B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the hydropower sector or a closely related heavy industrial power generation field.
Proven track record in a supervisory or managerial role within a power plant environment.

Technical Skills:

In-depth knowledge of hydraulic turbines, high-voltage switchgear, and control systems (SCADA/PLC).
Strong understanding of electromechanical systems and diagnostic tools.
Familiarity with environmental regulations and water management protocols.

Soft Skills:

Exceptional leadership and decision-making capabilities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills for technical reporting and stakeholder management.
Proficient in using relevant software and tools for project operation.
Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Proven leadership and team management experience.
Willingness to site-base / residential job
