Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH invites applications from suitable and qualified individuals for Support to Health Sector Strategy II (S2HSS II). GIZ is supporting the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) to implement the Nepal health sector strategic plan through S2HSS II. The overall goal of S2HSS II is to strengthen the capacities of the institutions responsible for social health protection and healthcare provision of the population. S2HSS II covers three major areas of work in Nepal:

  1. The institutional capacities to guarantee the financial sustainability of the national health insurance scheme run by HIB are enhanced.
  2. Municipal evidence-based health sector management has been improved with the collaboration of representatives of vulnerable women and marginalized groups.
  3. The institutional capacities of state actors to network digital information systems within the health service have been enhanced.

Responsibilities:

  • Support different conflict victims´ groups and partner organisations in design and implementation of memorialization work and peace education
  • Capacity building of victims´ groups and other concerned stakeholders on holistic and restorative approaches to Dealing with the Past, Memory Work and Peace Education
  • Co-design and co-facilitate workshops, trainings and meetings together with national peace advisors
  • Support peer-to-peer processes and participatory approaches to story collection, documentation and editing
  • Support partner organizations in the process of collection, curation, analysing, securing and archiving sensitive, victim-related data
  • Contribute to organizational and network development of partners
  • Contribute to project management and strategic planning; monitoring, evaluation and reporting
  • Conduct ongoing context research, conflict analysis and needs assessment of partners

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • University degree in social science, psychology, social work or related subject; Postgraduate research in related area would be an asset
  • Well-founded knowledge about concepts and methods of Memory Work and Peace Education
  • Several years of working experience in Memorialization/Memory Work in a post-conflict country
  • In-depth working experience in Dealing with the Past, reconciliation and peace building in general
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with victims and survivors and their associations
  • Knowledge about and experience of secure archiving of data and analysis and about using digital platforms for Memory Work
  • Experience in curating materials for different audiences
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Nepali language would be an asset or willingness to learn Nepali language

At the site of operation the particulate pollution occurs to be many time higher than the European acceptable limit. As part of the selection process and during the recruitment examination you will be informed of appropriate protective and behavioral measures.
