Duties and Responsibilities:

• Examine eye and perform various ocular diagnostic test.
  
• Analyze test result and develop a treatment plan.
• Prescribe, supply, fit and adjust eye glass, contact lens and other visual aids to correct or conserve vision and advise the patient about the best option.
• Educate and counsel patient on contact lens care, visual hygiene, lighting arrangements and safety factors.
• Perform strabismus evaluation, binocularity test and other test as requested by the Ophthalmologist.
• Consult with and refers patient to Ophthalmologist or other health care practitioner if additional medical treatment is necessary. 
• Prescribe diagnostic medication for diagnosing various eye problems.
• Participate in research.
• Updating self to recent advance in the field and applying new knowledge to the job.
• Teaching/Training junior members and other health care professionals.
• Participate without hesitation in all outreach activities posted by department/hospital administration.
• Responsible for proper handling cleaning of all equipment’s and proper care of clinical room.
• Maintain punctuality and in case of emergency leave delay inform the concerned authority at the earliest.
• Work in coordination with Incharge/HoD Eye department and other hospital staffs.
• Maintain good interpersonal relationship with other colleagues, seniors and patients/attendants.
• Participate and guide hospitals rehabilitation services for visually Impaired and low vision child.
• Duties and responsibilities added deleted or changed at the discretion of the management of formally or informally, verbally or in writing.
