The company seeks to build robust farmer networks, enhance seed adoption, and support eco-friendly farming practices across Nepal. The Operational Manager / Operational Head will play a pivotal role in overseeing the company’s operations, ensuring efficient business processes, and driving strategic growth to achieve organizational objectives.

Reports to: Seed head/ DCEO (MKCL)

Scope of Work / Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the company’s vision and goals.
  • Collaborate with senior management to formulate business plans, budgets, and growth strategies.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market opportunities to inform strategic decisions.
  • Oversee seed production, processing, quality assurance, and distribution processes to ensure high standards and efficiency.
  • Manage supply chain logistics, including procurement, inventory, and timely delivery of seeds to markets.
  • Ensure compliance with national seed regulations, certifications, and quality standards.
  •  Direct sales strategies to promote the company’s seed portfolio, including hybrid, open- pollinated, and climate-resilient varieties.
  • Oversee the development and execution of area-specific marketing campaigns and promotional activities.
  • Identify and pursue new market segments, including institutional buyers and international opportunities.
  • Strengthen relationships with farmers, cooperatives, seed producer groups, and agri- entrepreneurs to enhance seed adoption.
  • Oversee field-level programs, including demonstrations, training, and technical advisory services.
  • Foster partnerships with local governments and development agencies for public-private collaborations.
  • Monitor operational budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and financial sustainability.
  • Oversee procurement processes, vendor contracts, and cost negotiations to optimize operational expenses.
  •  Ensure accurate financial reporting and alignment with the company’s fiscal objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate operational teams, including sales, production, and field staff, to achieve performance targets.
  • Coordinate training programs to enhance staff skills in seed production, marketing, and customer engagement.
