  • A recognised Bachelor degree qualification or higher with a proven academic track record.
  • Should possess the ability to communicate in English and Nepali language effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a team environment.
  • Excellent public speaking skills, presentation skills and writing skills.
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience as an abroad study counselor (especially for Australia, UK and Canada bound students in a reputed consultancy based in Nepal or abroad with excellent track record.
  • Should have a wide range of knowledge of international education, education systems of Nepal and other popular student destination countries and visa requirements.
  • Competent in using email, the internet and various computer applications, especially the Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise, and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work independently, take leadership roles and contribute to innovative ideas when and where necessary.

Job Description

  • Provide advice to the student that meets a range of students needs as per guidelines provided by the organisation standard operations procedures.
  • Provide reliable, accurate and comprehensive information based on students’ profiles.
  • Interpret and explain college and university policies and procedures, prepare orientations, and present academic information to students and parents during counselling sessions.
  • Identify options for students to satisfy degree requirements, evaluate and make recommendations in the institution abroad for a preferred program of study.
  • Assist students in completing the admission process and getting admission in the accredited institutions in the selected study destinations.
  • Assist students in going through all the process elements in obtaining entry as students at the selected destinations.
  • Participate in decision making and in activities, which contribute to the effective operation within the department.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and motivate the team members when required.
  • Cooperate and collaborate with other professionals in enhancing the career and education of students.
  • Regular follow-ups to ensure that the students process abroad via the organisation.
  • Achieve specified targets on time as agreed.
  • Analyse progress, determine eligibility, necessity and resources to progress towards the target.
  • Identify the current and potential needs or problem areas, and refer to the problem, if any, to the immediate supervisor through the proper channel.
  • Check various forms for accuracy such as curriculum changes, visa policy changes, fee schedule changes and update the same in the organisation information system folders/locations.
  • Regularly search options for students to satisfy specific degree requirements.
  • Evaluate transfer transcripts from other academic institutions for equivalencies and application to selected degree programs.
  • Coordinate with the Academic department to ensure the status of the currently enrolled students in various programs for further counselling.
