Democratic Freedom and Human Rights Institute (DFHRI) is an independent and not-for-profit making organization established in 2007 in Kathmandu Nepal. It has been registered at District Administration Office, Lalitpur and is affiliated with Social Welfare Council, Government of Nepal. Since its establishment, the DFHRI has been working in Nepal to protect and promote human rights with focus on transitional justice, rule of law and accountability. The DFHRI respects and promotes diversity and plurality both in its structural make-up and operational interventions. It has an inclusive governing board of nine members led by a lawyer and six regular staff members led by another human rights lawyer.

Job Description

  • Answer incoming calls and receptionist duties 
  • Assist in operational backstopping of DFHRI office and field works by ensuring timely provision of suitable inputs such as equipment, stationary and other utilities required
  • Organizing travel by booking accommodations and reservations needs as required
  • Provide filing services, archiving and offer circulation of mail service within the office
  • Provide errands, travel and banking services as required
  • Work with the relevant officers on arrangement of workshops/meetings materials 
  • Maintain the current database of DFHRI in updated form
  • Keep a well track record and monitor  office equipment, supplies and handle shortages
  • To provide administrative support to the staff, including proper documentation, filing, office supplies
  • Record all resumes and personnel record (staff data base)in an paper and HR electronic file
  • Respond to may defect of the operating system and ensure timely rectification
  • Be accessible and respond to staff and manager enquiry in a timely manner
  • Keep well track of lunch bill of the staff
  • Carry out other administrative duties such as photocopying, document binding, scanning and receiving telephone as and when required
  • Provide support for activities in other program areas as assigned
  • Uphold and promote principles and values of DFHRI
