NLR Nepal is a not-for-profit national organisation registered under Company Registration Act of Nepal in 2018. NLR is a member of NLR Alliance led by NLR Netherlands for providing technical and financial support to leprosy and disability programmes in seven countries including Nepal.
NLR in Nepal, works closely with the government and non-government stakeholders and partners to eradicate leprosy from the country and to make all development initiatives inclusive to people affected by leprosy and disability. NLR Nepal consists of 18 staff members and located at Sankhamul Marga, New Banewhwor Kathmandu with its field offices in Biratnagar and Dhangadhi covering province one and Sudur Pashchim Pradesh.

NLR is currently going through a transition process where all Country/Regional Offices are transformed into local NGOs working together in an Alliance with NLR. In light of this process, a new Country Director is needed to strengthen the capacity of the organisation to be able to stand on its own feet, to raise its own funds and to be embedded in the Nepalese civil society. The new Country Director will lead the organization through this transformation process and will become the CEO once the process in finalized. The Country Director needs to have the Nepalese nationality.
What does the work imply?
As Country Director, you will be responsible for the management of the office and coordinate and supervise the overall NLR programme in Nepal. You will contribute to the proper positioning of NLR Nepal, creating and strengthening alliances and partnerships. You will look for strategies to raise Institutional Fundraising for the projects and programmes. You will ensure proper utilization of funds from NLR and other donors who contribute to the programme. This includes ensuring a well-functioning PME and Learning practice. You will foster and maintain a good cooperation with all relevant stakeholders.
In the light of the transition process you will strengthen the capacity of the organisation, establish and ensure the well-functioning of the new local NGO including its governance, programs and organizational performance.
