Job Description

The Executive Search Unit of merojob, on behalf of its client, is hiring a National Sales Manager (FMCG). The role involves leading and driving nationwide sales operations to achieve business growth, market share, and profitability objectives in the competitive FMCG sector. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and dynamic leader with strong sales management expertise, proven experience in managing large teams, and the ability to deliver sustainable revenue growth through effective channel management, market development, and customer relationship management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement national sales strategies to achieve revenue, market share, and profitability targets.
  • Forecast demand, set sales targets, and monitor achievement against KPIs.
  • Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and emerging customer needs.
  • Build, expand, and strengthen distribution networks across regions.
  • Manage relationships with distributors, retailers, and key accounts.
  • Ensure effective channel coverage and product availability nationwide.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing sales team.
  • Assign clear sales targets and responsibilities to regional/area sales managers.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to enhance sales capability.
  • Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, trade partners, and institutional clients.
  • Resolve escalated customer issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Drive initiatives to improve customer loyalty and retention.
  • Monitor sales performance metrics, analyze results, and implement corrective actions where needed.
  • Prepare regular reports for senior management on sales performance, opportunities, and risks.
  • Manage trade promotions, sales budgets, and incentives effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, pricing guidelines, and compliance standards.
  • Conduct market intelligence to stay ahead of competitors.
  • Recommend product positioning, pricing strategies, and promotional activities.
  • Support the launch and growth of new products nationwide.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 8–10 years of progressive experience in FMCG sales, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial/national-level leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of FMCG distribution, retail trade, and channel management.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales growth and managing large, geographically diverse teams.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in sales management systems, CRM, and MS Office tools.
  • Results-driven, analytical, and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced FMCG environment.
