National Association of PLWHA in Nepal (NAP+N) is a national network of People Living with HIV (PLHIV) was established in 2003 that works at national level and local community-based organizations and communities with a mission to strengthen the voice of PLHIV through formation and strengthening of networks and association of PLHIV to respond to the challenges of HIV in Nepal. NAP+N focuses on building the capacity of local PLHIV groups to respond appropriately to the needs of PLHIV and its related key populations in areas of advocacy, prevention, care and support, counseling, raising community awareness, providing information and education and improving access to the healthcare and legal services.

NAP+N is seeking application from qualified, smart and result oriented Nepali citizens for the following positions under USAID/EpiC Nepal Project in partnership with FHI360.

Responsibilities

Following  is  the  list  of  specific  duties  and  responsibilities  that  fall  within  the  scope  of  the  job.  The incumbent will perform these tasks when necessary and as appropriate, depending on the context. In addition,  it  may  be  necessary  for the  individual  to  perform  duties  and  responsibilities  that,  while  not specifically listed below, fall under the general categories of this job description and are within the spirit of the job.

Under  the  general  guidance  and  supervision  of  President,  the  incumbent  will  provide  the  following services:

  • Implement the EpiC Nepal Project in consultation with other program units of NAP+N in each level and advocate for the rights of the people living with HIV.
  • Coordinate  and  collaborate  with  Provincial  program  of  GOs  and  other  NGOs  to  ensure  timely conduction of project activities.
  • Supervise, Monitor and Mentor the staff under the project for effective implementation of project activities.
  • Monitor, revise and update the activities of the project as per the need in consultation with Board and core team of NAP+N.
  • Support  board  of  NAP+N  in  developing  policies,  procedures,  and  resources  to  enhance  the organization’s governance structure.
  • Develop effective communication within member organizations, provincial offices and Board including core team of NAP+N.
  • Contribute ideas to develop HIV strategy and support in preparation of strategic plan.
  • Work in close collaboration with the team of NAP+N, district level offices and other programs of
  • NAP+N.
  • Develop and deliver trainings and manuals for staffs and member/partner organizations.
  • Provide technical support to members/partners to develop and implement organizational policies and practices.
  • Prepare and submission of report of the project according to the timeline of NAP+N.
  • Lead to upgrade and maintain reporting and recording tools of the project according to the need.
  • Documentation of lesson learnt and challenges to effectively improve the quality of the project.
  • Coordinate and co-operate with finance authorities to ensure correct, effective and timely utilization and flow of fund.
  • Represent NAP+N in different forums to carry out the objectives and goals of the project.
  • Promote NAP+N where ever possible.
  • Identify and expand membership of the organization.
  • Any other duties assigned by Management Committee.

Required Competency

  • Master's Degree with 2 years of experience or Bachelor Degree with 5 years of working experiences in similar field
  • Well handed with Microsoft office packages
  • Should be strong team player skills
  • Ability to work with target groups they are people living with HIV and AIDS
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and calm even under pressure
  • Fluent to write and speak in English and Nepali language
  • Command in report preparation, event note and record keeping,
  • Priority will be given to the people from the targeted community (PLHIV)
