Job Description:

IDS Media is seeking a Multimedia Reporter who will work with fellow reporters and editors to present a balanced, relevant and highly engaging mix of content. Ideal candidate will be a creative, hardworking individual with at least 2 years of experience working as a photographer / reporter with the ability to tell a story across multiple digital platforms. Experience in analytics and interpreting audience data will be an advantage.   

Responsibilities:

• Spot and produce brilliant, traffic-driving stories.
• Create varied ideas lists taking in viral stories, emerging trends and original takes on news stories
• Ensure stories are always illustrated with the best pictures, videos and graphics.
• Produce sparkling copy at speed and to tight deadlines.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication/IT or related field 

Qualifications/Requirements:

• At least 2 years of experience working on the beat at a major digital brand.
• Have an eye for stories that attract high traffic.
• Ability to work independently under pressure to meet tight deadlines, and solid knowledge of journalistic standards. 
• Curious, versatile and proactive with a mixture of technical and editorial skills to produce long and short formats of video. 
• Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.   
• Strong on-camera presentation skills, including the ability to deliver live breaking news.
• Have a thorough knowledge of media law and ethical considerations.
