Job Description

Sahara Nepal is implementing “Financial Inclusion for Marginalized Women in Nepal” project in 3 districts of Province 1 (Jhapa, Morang and Udayapur) and 1 district of Madhesh Pradesh (Saptari) under the funding of Jersey Overseas Aid (JOA) through Habitat for Humanity Great Britain (HFHGB). The project was initiated in August 2020 and is scheduled to phase out on 30th April 2024.  The overarching objective of the project is to increase the capacity of specific micro-finance institutions on increasing the housing loan portfolio and expedite the demand for housing loans for safer and decent housing. The project aims to contribute to an uptake of 112,000 housing loans by marginalized and low-income women by 2024. Thus, Sahara Nepal seeks an application from competitive and dynamic candidates for the position of Monitoring Evaluation and Learning (MEAL) Officer which shall be based in Sahara Nepal’s head office, Birtamod Jhapa.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing programmatic and logistical backstopping to the project team in organizing workshops and meetings
  • Update the project database on a regular basis as built in platform
  • Conducting training needs assessments related to M&E, research, and data use at the client, and employee
  • Regularly update the project implementation plan and follow up on the work as per the guideline stipulated in the Implementation Plan.
  • Support to design and develop training and ICT resources
  • Report back to business functions on current risk and compliance performance
  • Ensure project reports are duly prepared and submitted to Habitat Nepal
  • Prepare Palika/cluster-wise target and share a plan to implement and track the progress
  • Monitoring and supervise program activities to ensure that they are implemented as per plan and with highest standard
  • Analyze program data, monthly track the achievements against target and provide feedback
  • Maintain records of official correspondence between project, partner and stakeholders
  • Compile and collect project reports, case stories, good practices and share to project team, partner and funding agency
  • Perform any other duties as required or requested by line manager
  • Ensure compliance of the organization's culture, values, and policies
