Fightback is a sexual violence risk reduction education program in Nepal. It offers a comprehensive program that integrates both soft skills and physical techniques for addressing violence and harassment. Fightback has made significant strides in our mission to address violence and harassment. Our in-person training and outreach have now benefited a total of 111,500 individuals, spanning 35 districts in Nepal. This includes 61,500 women and girls, as well as 50,000 boys, men, parents, and teachers. Specifically, 54,000 girls and 7,500 women have received training, along with 38,500 boys, 5,000 men, 5,700 parents, and 800 teachers.

To further expand our impact, we have successfully transitioned to the online domain by creating an E-Learning platform delivered through both web and app interfaces. The platform encompasses information delivery through video/audio content, text-based content, illustrations, and downloadable materials, as well as engaging learning activities such as quizzes, puzzles, and games. 

Fightback has envision’s to undertake project “HAVEN’’(Harassment And Violence Elimination Network). Project Haven which will first entail providing refresher training to previous schools in 3 districts Kathmandu, Jhapa and Morang and a few schools in another district in Pokhara. In addition to this, women from refugee communities and individual with disabilities will be provided training. After the training, girls, boys, teachers and women from refugee communities will be selected and provided Fightback Training of Trainer (TOT) training. After which they will be able to reach wider audience of their communities. This will enable the community to be more safer.

The propagation of knowledge and skills will be as follows: 

  • Girls will teach girls
  • Boys will teach boys 
  • Teachers will teach parents 
  • Women will teach women

Job Description

Department: Research

Reports to: Executive Director or his/her nominee

Reportees/Supervision: Survey Coordinator, M&E Officer

Position Objectives: 

This position will work in close collaboration of SDPI’s Research team. S/he will be not only responsible for carrying out external monitoring and evaluation assignments but organizational performance M&E too. S/he will also be responsible for conducting impact assessments studies and process review studies. S/he will be responsible for networking and regular liaison with other research institutes, INGOs, UN Agencies and public sector organizations.

Fundraising through strengthening M & E department will also be part of his/her role. S/he will also ensure the maintenance of a survey finding database.

Job Responsibilities, Duties and Tasks:

Core Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Develop comprehensive and effective collaborations with NGOs, UN Agencies and public and private sectors
  • Develop and implement various standard monitoring protocols (including questionnaires and survey designs) for different programmes, research studies, and third party assignments
  • Develop proposals for conducting base line studies, process review, monitoring and evaluation studies and impact assessment studies for various donor/partner organizations
  • Manage field based data collection
  • Supervise data management and analysis in the required software
  • Provide Consultation and provide input in synthesizing a process for utilizing baseline information in documentation
  • Ensure all project reports are produced on time with high quality
  • Ensure representation of SDPI at all appropriate forums
  • Assist ED in evaluation of different donor’s projects/programmes
  • Design M&E trainings for in-house Trainings through CCB
  • The incumbent is expected to raise US$ 10000 per annum from M&E assignments

Decision Making & Authority: 

  • This is a senior-level position and involves significant decision making
