Swatantrata Abhiyan Nepal (SAN), established in 2012, is a Non-Governmental Organization. It is a secular, non-partisan organization that implements advocacy, peoples empowerment, research and movement building activities and campaigns on the area of human rights, fundamental freedoms and civil liberties. SAN works together with Government and Civil Society Organizations, Trade Unions to end all kinds of fear, discrimination, slavery like practices, discrimination and deprivation all over Nepal. Currently Swatantrata Abhiyan has been working at federal level and three provinces (Bagmati, Lumbini and Sudupaschim Province) campaigning to end Child Labor, Forced Labor, Human Trafficking along with various civil society organisations in the collaboration with Global March against Child Labor in Nepal.

SAN is seeking a dedicated and experienced Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to lead and strengthen M&E system. The M&E Officer shall provide strategic oversight and technical leadership ensuring evidence driven decision-making for the improvement of program quality and accountability.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Develop/ update organizational MEAL Framework and lead the development of Management Information System in line with organizational strategy.
  • Develop and update the M&E framework of all projects and align it with MIS ensuring the integration of organizational strategies into projects.
  • Carry out orientation and provide support to project teams on collection of data, maintaining database, analysis, and reporting.
  • Write Project Report and in some cases support Program team in ensuring timely submission and quality of periodic reports.
  • Support in quality documentation, capture evidence, lessons learnt, good practices and case stories/ human interest stories of ongoing programs and projects.
  • Work closely with the program team to ensure that project-based learnings and monitoring/evaluation results are regularly used and reflected.
  • Data collection, collation, storage, analysis, tracking and reporting on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis against performance indicators.
  • Develop the organizational strategy indicators progress tracking mechanism and update the progress in alignment with all projects.
  • Assist project teams to understand the concept of organizational strategy and facilitate incorporating the ideas into project monitoring, evaluation, database management.
  • Perform other activities deemed required for organization as directed by senior supervisor.
  • Conduct monitoring visits to projects sites and facilitate in ensuring quality delivery of services as per the expected results.
  • Prepare/update the assessment/research plan of all projects and the organization.
  • Ensure periodic reviews of all projects are carried out within the standards based on result-based indicators that align with baseline and periodic targets.

Qualifications & Essential Qualities:

  • Master’s degree or higher in Statistics, Development Studies, Social Work, Research or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years’ work experience in the relevant field of monitoring and evaluation, program development, project management, and/or research work.
  • Good understanding about data management and passionate about mental health and psychosocial disability issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to compile and synthesize data and prepare reports.
  • Excellent writing skill in English and Nepali languages.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Excellent teamwork.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and tight deadlines;
  • Team Player and Good time-management skills;
